Richard Hyman
A graduate of Queens College and recipient of an M.A. in Music from Columbia University and an M.S. in Education from Queens College, Richard Hyman is Director of Vocal Music at Francis Lewis High School in Queens, N.Y., and Music Director of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Huntington, NY.

In 1991 and again in 1993, Mr. Hyman was one of only 10 teachers city-wide placed on the Chancellor's Teachers Honor Roll for his Outstanding Student Music Ensembles. In May of 2007, he received the first-ever Queens Music Teacher of the Year grant.

A published composer, Mr. Hyman has had his music performed by numerous groups, including a world premiere of his choral setting of Written in Pencil by the Hofstra University Chamber Singers in 2006 and a 2007 performance of his setting of Oseh Shalom at the Vatican. Mr. Hyman has produced, performed, and conducted original music for film and television, and he has been an annual recipient of the ASCAP Special Award for composer members since 1998.
